[UK] Bristol University 2010 Scholarships for Postgraduate Study and Research

In 2010, we are offering the following scholarships for postgraduate study and research. All scholarships will be awarded to provide outstanding candidates with support for postgraduate study at MA, MPhil, MLitt or PhD level in the Arts, Humanities or Modern Languages
- 3 x Faculty Masters Scholarships – Deadline 28th May 2010
- 3 x Faculty Research Scholarships – Deadline 28th May 2010
- 1 x Institute of Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition Scholarship – Deadline 28th May 2010
- 10 x International Office scholarships – Deadline 28th May 2010
Postgraduate Masters Scholarships
There will be 3 scholarships offered, one for each of the following subject areas:
- 1 x Music
- 1 x Theology & Religious Studies
- 1 x German
The value of these awards will be £4,450

Postgraduate Research Scholarships
There will be 3 scholarships offered, one for each of the Schools within the Faculty as follows:
- 1 x School of Arts (Anthropology, Archaeology, Drama, Film, Music, Philosophy, Theatre)
- 1 x School of Humanities (Ancient History, Classics, English Literature, History, History of Art, Medieval Studies, Reception, Religion, Theology)
- 1 x School of Modern Languages (Czech, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish)
The value of these scholarships will be £3,440

Institute of Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition
The Bristol Institute of Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition promotes research into all aspects of Greco-Roman culture from antiquity to the present day, in the belief that classical culture remains a vital influence in the modern world. It embraces research from many fields, including history of all kinds, archaeology, literary studies, art history and philosophy, and has a particular focus on research that explores links between ancient and modern.
To support interdisciplinary study, the Institute is providing a £500 scholarship to applicants for the MA Reception and Critical Theory programme.

International Office taught postgraduate scholarships
We are pleased to announce ten £2,000 scholarships available to international taught postgraduate students (overseas fee payers) from any country. The deadline for scholarship applications is Friday 28 May 2010, applicants must ALSO apply for an academic place by this date.
