			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Department of Chemistry at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga announces the Grote Chemistry Scholarship Program for 2012. Awards of $14,000 ($3,500 per year for four years) will be presented to as many as three entering freshmen majoring in Chemistry. The awards are renewable over a four-year period and can be added to other University scholarships and the Tennessee Lottery scholarship. Grote Chemistry Scholarships are named in honor of Dr. Irvine W. Grote, who served as head of the department from 1941 to 1964. Previous Grote Scholars have graduated with distinction and gone on to success in chemistry graduate schools, medical schools, law schools, pharmacy schools, and the chemical industry.<br />

Scholarship opportunities are available for incoming and returning students. Scholarship amounts are based upon full-time attendance and will be adjusted for students who attend less than full-time. Scholarships for undergraduates are offered in the following disciplines: Music Studies (keyboards, percussion, guitar, bass, voice, trumpet, trombone, flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, viola, cello, upright bass) Music Business Music Production (music production, recording engineer, live sound, hip hop) Contemporary Writing (songwriting and instrumental composition)<br />

<em><strong>Eligibility</strong></em><br />
All incoming students are automatically considered for a scholarship based upon admission requirements and audition/work sample evaluations (no scholarship application is required). However, students must submit a 2012–2013 FAFSA application by March 1, 2012 to determine financial need. All returning students are automatically considered for a scholarship based upon their cumulative GPA. (No application is required.) Premier Scholarships (Excellence in Music Performance, Excellence in Music Production, Conclave Music Business, Hip-Hop) are open to all incoming and returning students. To be considered for Premier Scholarships, students MUST complete the online Premier Scholarship application. All applicants must meet the requirements of being successfully admitted to the college, including passing auditions and submitting demos, as required by the admission office for that field of study. Applicants must have completed the necessary admissions requirements to be provisionally accepted into a program of study at McNally Smith College of Music. Scholarships are only awarded to distinguished applicants, therefore not all scholarships are awarded each academic year.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The VSGC Undergraduate STEM Research Scholarship Program provides awards of up to $8,500 to rising juniors and seniors who are enrolled full-time in a program of study in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) and have a specific faculty-mentored research project that has NASA or aerospace relevance. Awards are one-year, non-renewable scholarships. Students may apply for the following: a $3,000 student stipend during the 2012–13 academic year and/or a $3,500 stipend during summer 2012 or 2013 (must be specified in application) plus, $1,000 research allocation for materials and travel to support research activities conducted during the academic year and/or $1,000 research allocation during the summer 2012 or 2013 (if doing summer research).<br />

Eligibility</strong></em><br />
- Must be U.S. citizen<br />
- Must enrolled as a full-time student (minimum 12 credit hours) at one of the five Virginia Space Grant Consortium member institutions<br />
- Must have completed at least two years of a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) undergraduate program and be classified as a junior or senior during the 2012-2013 academic year (must have at least junior status by summer 2012 if choosing this option)<br />
- Must be in a program of study demonstrating an interest in aerospace or supporting NASA’s mission<br />
- Must have a grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale</p>

The successful M.Sc. candidate will work on the development of Controllers for Variable Speed Wind Energy Conversion Systems. The candidate will receive a scholarship of $16,000, per year, for two years. The position will start in January 2012.<br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Thank you for your interest in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure College Scholarship Program. In 2001, Komen established the college scholarship program to help students who would find attending college to be a significant financial burden due to the loss of a parent or guardian to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis at age 25 or younger. The program has evolved into a dynamic partnership between Komen and students who serve in their communities, sharing Komen’s message of breast cancer awareness and raising funds while pursuing their baccalaureate degrees. The award is a generous scholarship of $10,000 a year for up to four years to attend a state university in pursuit of a baccalaureate degree. Scholarship recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential.<br />

<em><strong>Eligibility</strong></em><br />
-Must have lost a parent/guardian to breast cancer OR<br />
-Must be a breast cancer survivor diagnosed at 25 years or younger<br />
-Must be a high school senior, college freshman, sophomore or junior<br />
-Must plan to attend a state-supported college or university in the state where they permanently reside (students in Washington DC can attend state-supported schools in Maryland or Virginia)<br />
- Must have a high school and/or college GPA of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale<br />
-Must be no older than 25 years old by May 2012<br />
-Must be a U.S. citizen, or documented permanent resident of the U.S. (or US Territory)<br />
- Never at any time have been subject to any disciplinary action by any institution or entity, including, but not limited to, any educational or law enforcement agency<br />
-Must be a driven advocate for breast cancer education and research who is able to complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service per semester</p>
