[UK] National Scholarship Program at University of Westminster

If you are a new student starting your studies in 2012, you may be eligible for additional financial support in the form of a University of Westminster National Scholarship. The scholarship is worth £6,000 and has been established to provide extra help for students from low-income backgrounds. It is jointly funded by the Government and the University.

We will be awarding scholarships to 222 new students in 2012. The allocation of scholarships is not automatic – students who believe they meet the eligibility criteria will need to submit a completed application form. We will send details of the application process, including application forms and submission deadlines, to all students who receive an offer of a place on a course. Information about the application procedure will also be available on this webpage throughout the year.

Eligibility
You have been allocated the maximum Living Cost Grant (also called Maintenance Grant or Special Support Grant ) from Student Finance England. You have firmly accepted a place at the University of Westminster as your first choice through UCAS Your permanent registered home address is in England, or if you are a national from another EU state, you are applying for the fee-only element of the NSP award (£5000 maximum)

[UK] International Undergraduate Merit Scholarships (IUMS)

IUMS is intended for international students who study for their first degree at Newcastle University. This partial scholarship has a value of £2,250 for the first year of study. Eligible applicants will be considered based on the information given on their UCAS application form.

[Sweden] Postdoctoral in Business Administration

The holder of this position should have competency and experience in at least one of the fields of business studies. Scholarly proficiency is the main requirement for employment. The position involves a limited amount of teaching (the equivalent of one course a year and some supervision of Bachelor and Master’s Theses).

Eligibility
To be qualified for employment as post doc, an individual shall have a PhD awarded no more than three years ago (unless the applicant has been on parental leave of leave due to illness).

For appointment, the aplicant must have demonstrated a high degree of research expertise and also shown teaching skills. The application must include a research plan where the applicant presents his/her own ideas for research to be conducted.

[Sweden] Scholarships for International Students at University of Skövde

The University of Skövde offers scholarships to students attending a Master’s program at our university. The scholarships are tuition fee waivers of SEK 60,000 per year (50% of the tuition fee), and the amount will be deducted from the tuition fee when you receive the invoice. The scholarship granting criterion is academic merits. The scholarship can only be awarded to tuition paying students. Please note that you have to be able to finance the rest of the tuition fee yourself and to cover all the living expenses during your stay in Sweden. If you want to apply for a scholarship at the University of Skövde please fill in the Scholarship Application Form.

Eligibility
Students from all over the world, including non-nominated students from partner universities can apply to an international Master’s program (second cycle) and single subject courses on Basic (first cycle) or Advanced (second cycle) level. Basic requirements for Masters’ program and second cycle courses are a Bachelor degree and proof of English (can vary between countries or universities). Basic requirements for first cycle courses are a completed upper secondary education and proof of English (can vary between countries).

[Australia] Catherine McAuley Scholarship

This scholarship is an endowed scholarship established in 2006 by the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland to honour Sister Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy, and in recognition of the predecessor college McAuley College.

Reward & Eligibility

1. The Scholarship will have a value of $2,500 per annum for the length of the recipients course.

2. The Scholarship will be open to commencing students enrolled for any undergraduate course (other than the Bachelor of Theology) at the Brisbane campus of the University. Preference will be given to applicants who are socially and economically disadvantaged, Indigenous students and students from rural and regional areas.

One Scholarship may be awarded each year on the recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of the Deputy-Vice-Chancellor having responsibility for the Brisbane campus, the Deputy-Vice-Chancellor (Students and Learning), a representative from the Sisters of Mercy in Queensland, and Director, Marketing and External Relations.

[Australia] Nano Nagle Scholarships at Australian Catholic University

Established by the Presentation Sisters, Queensland Congregation, to commemorate and honour the work of their founder Nano Nagle. Members of the Order have become aware of the injustices perpetrated against the traditional owners of the land and therefore have begun to be involved in the Indigenous reconciliation process and to appreciate, and learn from Indigenous spirituality, culture and history.

[Africa] Internship Program at African Development Bank

The broad objectives of this program are to:

Provide students with an opportunity to acquire professional and practical experience at the African Development Bank.
Provide the Bank with a pool of potential candidates for future recruitment purposes.

However applicants should not expect the internship to lead to immediate employment with the AfDB.

Eligibility

To be eligible for internship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Applicants must:

Be students, aged between eighteen (18) to thirty (30) years, and currently enrolled in a master’s level degree program or its equivalent in a recognized public or private institution of higher learning. The candidate can apply for an internship within one year of having obtained such a degree.
Provide a letter from their school confirming their enrollment.
Be citizens of one of the Bank’s member countries.
Be fluent in, at least, one of the Bank’s working languages (English or French).

Terms and Conditions

Interns will be responsible for their airfare to and from the location of their internship, their visa if needed and will be required to have international medical and accident insurance coverage for the duration of their internship.
